Many of these harmful solutions contain highly toxic active ingredients. When powders, shampoos and sprays containing them are ingested by the pet or used in the wrong manner, it's possible for the dog to end up with nausea, convulsions as well as respiratory arrest. All of these scary side effects are not only limited to animals as they may happen to humans too.

Going for all-natural solutions is usually friendlier to the pocket too. As an example, one of the most cost-efficient ways to destroy the eggs is by sprinkling salt on places frequented by furry pals. Allowing the salt to remain there for at least three days before vacuuming dehydrates and kills off eggs. Those areas may also be sprayed with equal amounts of water and vinegar.

Essential oils are excellent repellents, making sure those insects are not going to bug dogs as they hate the way they smell. Some very effective ones for the job include eucalyptus, peppermint, lemongrass, orange and lavender. The pet owner may add 5-10 drops of the essential oil of choice in a cup of water. The solution should then be transferred to a spray bottle and applied onto pets as well as on blankets, kennels and others. It's important to note that some essential oils can be poisonous to cats.

A very simple infestation remedy is placing a bowl full of soapy water below a light source at night. When those bugs get attracted to the light, they end up drowning in the solution. Another way to ensure that dogs are free of those pests is by using a flea comb regularly. Each time, it has to be dipped in soapy water to kill off the bugs caught by the fine-toothed tool.

There are various natural flea control approaches available. With them, you don't have to shell out lots of money for an effective solution. More importantly, there's no need to fear for the lives of your pet and loved ones.
